Building Update
May - June 2017
On May 27th, we enjoyed some more relaxed time on the mountain after cleaning up trees and burning a little trash and brush. The rock pile has been demolished by a strong crew who showed up at the end of the day when the rest of us were tired and ready to quit. Many thanks to our reinforcements!
The next week, we were blessed to have Arrowood Construction arrive on the scene and construct the 27 block piers and fireplace. Then, on June 3rd, another group of hardworking volunteers from near and far gathered to finish the foundation job by filling all piers with concrete, seeding the side of the mountain, and trimming dead branches from the trees we hope to save. We were even able to re-place the dinner bell in a very convenient location... we're almost ready for hosting dinner!
We continue to be humbled and grateful for the help of many heroes in our midst who continue to lift us up when we feel overwhelmed with the project. We do not have adequate words to express our deep gratitude to everyone who has offered support, prayers, machinery, services, materials, time, and lots of love and encouragement.
We are so blessed and thankful for the outpouring of support that we’ve experienced since the fire in November. It is our dream to continue to welcome you to our special mountaintop, as generations have done in the past. If you’d like to contribute materials, time or expertise, please contact us at wayahbrunswickstew@gmail.com.
Stay tuned... next step is flooring joists and walls!
